Terms of Service

1) Acceptance

By accessing or playing Scrux.io, you agree to these Terms, our Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, and posted community rules. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2) Accounts & Verification

• You may play as a guest or create an account. Certain features (custom names, unrestricted chat) require verification.
• SMS verification is handled by ClickSend on our behalf. Phone numbers are transmitted securely to send a one-time code and are not stored by Scrux.io.
• Emails are used for account recovery and support. Only Jack Miller (the owner) has access to email addresses stored in the database; moderators cannot view them.
• We may use IPQualityScore to validate IP addresses and phone numbers, and to block high-risk access (e.g., open proxies, stolen numbers). This helps keep accounts secure for everyone.
• You are responsible for safeguarding your login credentials and ensuring your device remains secure.

3) Player Conduct

• No cheating, botting, exploiting bugs, or attempting to disrupt servers.
• No harassment, hate speech, or abusive behaviour. Respect other players and staff.
• No ban evasion or creating alternate accounts after punishment. Hashing of IPs and device fingerprints may be used to detect ban evasion.
• Follow any additional rules posted in-game, on the website, or on official Discord channels.

4) Security & Fair Play Measures

• IP addresses are hashed and supplemented with country/ISP data so we can identify coordinated attacks without storing raw IPs.
• Device fingerprinting captures limited technical details (browser, OS, language, screen size) to prevent bots and ban evasion.
• IPQualityScore assists us in identifying proxy usage, high-risk phone numbers, or fraudulent behaviour. Only information needed to assess risk and protect the game is stored.
• Passwords are hashed using bcrypt or Argon2; we never store plaintext passwords.

5) Virtual Items & Purchases

Cosmetics or memberships (if offered) are non-transferable and may change or be withdrawn. Refund requests are evaluated case-by-case in line with consumer protection law.

6) Privacy

Your data is handled according to our Privacy Policy, which is written to comply with the UK GDPR, Data Protection Act 2018, and Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR).

7) Disclaimers & Liability

• The service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.
• We do not guarantee uninterrupted service or error-free gameplay.
• To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the service.

8) Suspension & Termination

• We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, community rules, or applicable laws.
• We may block devices, hashed IPs, or phone numbers flagged as fraudulent to protect the community.
• You may request account deletion at any time by contacting support@scrux.io.

9) Governing Law & Venue

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the UK courts.

10) Changes

We may update these Terms to reflect gameplay, legal, or operational changes. Continued use after updates constitutes acceptance. Significant changes will be announced in-game, on Discord, or via email where appropriate.
